US-based Web integrator Xpedior has filed for bankruptcy in the United States, and has closed its Perth-based Australian subsidiary as a result.
Although the company did not include its foreign subsidiaries in its US bankruptcy filing, the Australian operations have been dissolved. Xpedior's Perth office employed several highly-skilled technical architects specialising in building e-business solutions with vendor partners such as BEA, IBM, Interwoven, iPlanet, Oracle, Vignette and WebMethods.
An Australian vendor partner confirmed the integrator's Australian offices had been disbanded, with the parent company keeping a minimum number of US branches open in the interim. The phone numbers at Xpedior's Perth office have been disconnected.
The integrator had recently sold its UK operations to Arthur Anderson, and announced in late March that it would cut 40 per cent of its workforce to adjust to market conditions.
