Computer Associates subsidiary, ACCPAC International, has expanded its ACCPAC Pro Series product offering by acquiring the full line of manufacturing software developed by Lahey Software.
The manufacturing software applications, which include production entry, work orders, shop control and project accounting modules, are designed to integrate rapidly with ACCPAC Pro Series accounting software. The products will be marketed under the ACCPAC brand as ACCPAC Pro Series Manufacturing.
According to ACCPAC, the applications have been popular with ACCPAC Pro Series users for more than a decade.
"The Lahey products were designed from the ground up to enhance and extend ACCPAC Pro Series to better meet the needs of manufacturing businesses," said Daithi Holden, ACCPAC's senior vice-president, Australia/Pacific.
"Pro Series serves nearly 30,000 small and medium businesses today. The addition of a manufacturing application already designed to integrate with our Pro Series suite was the next logical step in delivering end-to-end business management applications to our existing and future Pro Series clients."
ACCPAC Pro Series Manufacturing includes four modules each designed on the ACCPAC Pro Series architecture, which makes for easy integration, lower training costs and rapid implementation.
The ACCPAC Pro Series Manufacturing range comprises four modules. The Production Entry module is designed for companies that need bill of materials, sales kit, configuration and back-flush processing; the Work Orders module is designed for manufacturing firms that require work order processing, component allocation and routing and material requirements planning (MRP) features; the Shop Control module provides shop floor capacity scheduling, "what-if" planning capabilities, and work-in-process tracking for production managers who require manufacturing resource planning (MRP II); and the Project Accounting module provides a budget and costing tool for project accounting and job cost management.
ACCPAC Pro Series Manufacturing is available immediately through ACCPAC solution providers throughout Australia.
