Sausage shrugs off unsavoury brand

The Sausage group has abandoned its corporate brand and is to be re-named "SMS Management & Technology".

The change came about after the growth of the SMS Consulting Group, acquired by Sausage Software in May 2000, which is now the largest company in the Sausage Group. Current CEO of the Sausage Group, Lloyd Roberts, was CEO of SMS Consulting during the acquisition.

"Our new corporate brand more accurately reflects the extended capabilities of the entire group," Roberts said. "Sausage Software will remain our brand for Internet tools and products only."

Roberts will seek formal shareholder approval for the change at the group's next annual general meeting.
