Simms is taking on the vendor’s invisibleShield, a patented film attached to portable devices to ward off scratches and other superficial damage. It can be used on mobile phones, notebooks and GPS devices.
invisibleShield is compatible with a number of brands but is mainly aimed at Apple customers.
“We started talking to ZAGG and with our strength in the Apple channel, it found we were a pretty natural fit for its brand,” he said. “We are focusing on the Apple channel and mass merchant retail channel where most iPods and iPhones are sold.”
Troxler claimed Simms was the first ZAGG distributor in Australia but conceded the partnership is non-exclusive. The vendor plans to seek out other distributors for the broader mobile phones market.
Simms expanded its presence in the Apple accessories market last month by partnering with iPod accessories vendor, Incipio.
