Harvey Norman and Harris Technology back Seagate Consumer Storage Products

<p>Seagate Technology (NYSE: STX), maker of the world’s most popular hard drives, today announced the appointment of Harvey Norman Computers and Harris Technology as its first two retail partners in Asia Pacific. Both retailers already received stock of the newly launched Pocket Drives and will begin selling immediately. Existing Seagate channel partners, including Synnex Australia, will also be distributing the products.</p>
<p>The four consumer products launched today by Seagate include the new Seagate 5GB Pocket Hard Drive, Seagate 100GB Portable External Hard Drive, Seagate 5GB Compact Flash Photo Hard Drive and Seagate 400GB External Hard Drive.</p>
<p>According to Robert Yang, Seagate Managing Director ANZ, today’s announcement is a watershed for Seagate Technology in the region. “Australia and New Zealand are key to our retail strategy in Asia Pacific and we are pleased with the progress we are making, especially with the appointment of our first two retailer partners from Australia.” said Mr Yang.</p>
