State of the market

  • The miners led the markets lower in morning trading, despite strong gains on Wall St. That set the trend for the day and profit taking further softened figures. At close of trading, the S&P/ASX200 was down 51.2 points at 4899.5.
  • The Aussie dollar is down very slightly to $US0.9285. Gold has climbed well and sells for $US1151.7 an ounce and oil prices have remained steady at $US83.05 a barrel.
