State of the market

  • The market rose early on the back of strong banking gains and continued to perform strongly. At 1close of trading, it was up 38.6 points at 4950.7.
  • The Aussie dollar is strong against the Greenback and buys $US0.9298. Gold is on the up and selling for $US1139.2 an ounce while oil is steady at $US83.3 a barrel.
