This laptop has a 1.66GHz Intel Core i7-720QM processor with a mobile Intel PM55 chipset and 4GB of DDR3 RAM. It is the vendor’s fi rst Core i7 powered notebook and is directly targeted at the gaming and high-performance markets. The G60J features a 16-inch LED-backlit display with a native resolution of 1366 x 768. It also comes with Windows 7 Professional as its operating system. Graphics are provided by an Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M with 1GB of DDR3 VRAM. The laptop comes with stereo Altec Lansing speakers and EAX Advanced HD 4.0 for sound, while data storage is provided by two separate 500GB hard drives that spin up at 7200rpm. The G60J also has a Blu-ray combo drive for optical media. The full-sized chiclet keyboard lights up, allowing users to operate the device in the dark. For external display connectivity, the laptop has a D-sub port, an HDMI port and a DisplayPort, which was previously more common in Apple products. The Asus machine also comes with four USB 2.0 ports, an eSATA port, an ExpressCard/54 slot and a FireWire port along with three audio ports. There is Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11n wireless networking connectivity, while built-in Bluetooth functionality allows the G60J to work with compatible peripherals. A 2 megapixel camera is also included and aids Web conferencing. The notebook measures 375 x 265 x 40.6mm and comes with a 6-cell battery.
