Unified communications vendor, Mitel, has rounded out a strong second half in 2009, signing 25 new partners and certifying 85 partner engineers.
The vendor offers a range of free training courses that had proved popular with its growing channel, channel manager, Anne Wrencher, claimed. The initiative was designed to make it easier for partners to do business with Mitel.
“It’s easy to get skilled up with us, and we’re not necessarily looking to growing the channel base further – rather, we’re looking at our existing channels and growing skills within those channels,” he said.
In July 2009, Mitel also introduced an internship program to trains intern engineers across all Mitel unified communication solutions. After three months of hands-on experiences, job opportunities are found for the interns with Mitel partners.
Although she couldn’t specify an exact number, Wrencher said Mitel now boasted a partner base of in excess of 100, spread across three tiers of partner accreditation.
AuthorizedPARTNER is the base level, with selectPARTNER and premierPARTNERS requiring higher levels of commitment.
