- 04 November, 2009 14:26

Acronis (www.acronis.com.au) is today launching Acronis True Image Home 2010 Plus Pack, an add-on solution that offers advanced home users the flexibility to restore their files, applications and operating system to dissimilar hardware. The solution also provides support for dynamic disks and Microsoft Windows Preinstallation Environments (WinPE).

Acronis True Image Home 2010 Plus Pack is the latest addition to the Acronis family of backup and recovery products. It is available as an add-on solution to Acronis True Image Home 2010. It includes three components traditionally reserved for Acronis’ corporate line, making them available for advanced home users.

The solution includes Acronis Universal Restore, which ensures that if a machine is lost or stolen, or if a user wants to use a new or replacement machine, their data and applications can easily be exactly replicated to a physical or virtual machine - regardless of the make, model, or installed components.

In addition, the new product provides support for dynamic disks which offer features such as multi-partition and fault tolerant volumes, and easy partition size adjustment. With Acronis, backup and restore of dynamic volumes is easy. Users can restore dynamic volumes onto bare-metal disks or to existing dynamic disks.

The solution also supports WinPE and allows users to install the latest Microsoft drivers, customized scripts, applications and plug-ins more easily and quickly, speeding the recovery process. As a result, when users boot from their rescue media with Acronis True Image Home 2010, they are able to use more hardware than the existing one, and perform customised execution.

“Acronis has lately extended its consumer portfolio in order to meet specific home user needs. The powerful features in this enhanced solution cater for home users seeking advanced backup and recovery capabilities, delivered in an easy to use format, In addition, Universal Restore offers the ultimate flexibility, ensuring that your data and system is protected even if your machine is lost or stolen,” explains Jason Donahue, Acronis President and CEO.
