SYDNEY, November 30. Tandberg Data, the global supplier of data protection solutions, today announced that its `11th APAC Distributor Conference drew a solid attendance and a stronger than ever commitment to provide channel partners in the Asia Pacific region.

Commitment includes a robust and growing portfolio of data protection solutions for the SME markets, and fresh partner training and promotions.

More than 30 partners attended the two-day conference at the Four Seasons Resort in Koh Samui, Thailand. Tandberg Data speakers included CEO Pat Clarke, and Dan Bordessa, partner at Cyrus Capital.

The conference gave Tandberg Data’s distribution partners an opportunity to learn more about the company’s strategic direction and product roadmaps. Tandberg Data provided further information on its financial stability, and on the new structure that provides the company with foundations to grow and develop new data protection solutions for the SME market.

APAC distributors were invited to participate in small, informal meetings with Tandberg Data executives and customers, to discuss key opportunities for growing the channel.

“We were delighted to see the high level of participation in this year’s APAC Distributor’s Conference,” said Tandberg Data CEO Pat Clarke. “It is a testimony to the strong mutual commitment we have with our partners in this region – their loyalty and appreciation of our strong product portfolio – as well as our continued pledge to provide them with the right solutions and services they need to succeed.”

John Couvaras, Managing Director of Datastor Australia Pty Ltd, said after the conference: “We are very pleased with Tandberg Data and the commitment to those of us who distribute its data protection solutions and technologies. Our business relationship with Tandberg Data spans over four years and we’ve never been more excited about the broad suite of data protection solutions that are available today and soon to roll out next year.”

Paul Ong, Director of Tivo Technologies Pte Ltd., of Singapore, said: “As a fairly new business partner of Tandberg Data, I was impressed with the level of professionalism that I experienced at the conference. Tandberg Data did a great job of discussing current trends and issues, outlining a strong commitment to partners in the channel and focusing on providing world-class data protection solutions for small to medium enterprise customers.
