New Zealand-based software vendor, Right Hemisphere, has partnered with fellow kiwi company, Right Connect, to distribute its products in Australia exclusively.
According to Right Connect CEO, Jonathan Prince, said the product was doing well in New Zealand and that the low price point and relatively high quality would ensure resellers would enjoy high-volume sales.
“We’re mainly looking for value-added resellers. We’re targeting CAD verticals because [our products] come at a very good price point,” he said. “It’s up to 10 times less than other solutions.”
CAD, or Computer-aided design, is the creation of technical or engineering drawings using computers. Right Hemisphere’s product acts as an automated seeker and organiser of CAD information. The CEO claimed the reason for seeking only five Australian resellers was to maintain strong profits for those involved.
“We don’t want every man and his dog to have this product. The CAD market is a very mature market and it’s very hard for these guys to get an edge,” he said. “For each CAD vertical, we’ll sign up a particular reseller in a particular region to give them a competitive advantage.”
But Prince said while the commission rates were good, the low cost would impact amount resellers could make per sale.
“It’s a two-edged sword because the sales guys won’t want to spend a lot of time selling it because the commissions aren’t so high,” he said. “They’ll be targeting their existing client bases to upsell this quickly and easily.”
