Alcatel-Lucent and Integ launch a new partnership for carrier grade communications solutions to Australian verticals

 • 23 November, 2009 10:15

Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) and Integ have today launched a new business partnership, extending the reach of Alcatel-Lucent’s carrier grade communications solutions to Integ’s customers across industries including mining, utilities, energy and government.

The partnership includes IP/MPLS and optical transmission solutions, and combines the capabilities of both partners’ end-to-end integration services, tailoring solutions based on project complexity and customer needs.

With this partnership, Alcatel-Lucent is adopting a new indirect model to serve these vertical markets in Australia, alongside its direct model and existing relationships. Likewise, it is a first for Integ to offer carrier grade networking solutions, building on its proven IT portfolio and integration services, as well as its existing business partnership with Alcatel-Lucent in the enterprise voice and data space.

As part of UXC, Integ is also able to provide the financial strength to be able to address larger solutions, and access a wide range of specialist skills from across the UXC group of companies.

Cheryl Heaney, Sales director at Alcatel-Lucent’s Verticals activities in Australia said: “There is an ever increasing need from industries like utilities and energy to rely on sophisticated networking infrastructure that can support mission-critical operating environments. Carrier grade capabilities like 99.999% reliability and guaranteed Quality of Service play a critical role in driving fail-safe business operations and outcomes. Integ’s strong relationships into key industry verticals in Australia will help us extend our reach to new customers and address their needs together.”

Ian Poole, CEO at Integ said: “Partnering with Alcatel-Lucent provides a great opportunity for us to broaden our portfolio further and leverage the strong capabilities we have in network integration into the communications networking area – both with existing and new customers. We have an extremely successful existing partnership in the enterprise voice and data space, so extending into the carrier grade networking space is a logical next step to make together, with the aim of growing our combined market reach.”

Integ and Alcatel-Lucent worked with Creator Tech, an external organisation, to assist in the development of a sustainable partnership, sound mutually agreed objectives and joint sales plans.
