Communications Alliance appoints Michael Lee as new chair

Former politician to take over from retiring Neville Stevens

Communications industry representative body, Communications Alliance, has appointed Michael Lee as its new independent chair. He will take the position from January 1 and replaces retiring chair, Neville Stevens.

In a release, Lee said it was an exciting time to take up the position, with Communications Alliance to play a significant role in representing the industry through the NBN process.

“I look forward to engaging with members in 2010 as Communications Alliance continues to lead the industry’s input into the NBN and initiates new programs to promote consumer confidence in the broadband-enabled world,” Lee said in the release.

Lee is currently chairman of the NSW TAFE Commission Board and a director of Country Energy, Map Airports, Diversified Utilities and Energy Trusts (DUET) and Superpartners.

He also has had a political career and was the Minister for Tourism, Minister for Resources and Shadow Minister for Health and Education.
