Broadcasting specialist distributor, GDB International, has added two new vendors to its portfolio.
It has appointed its first teleprompter vendor, ProPrompter, having searched the space for a partner for quite some time, GDB sales and marketing manager, David Cooper, said.
The challenge was in finding a vendor with an attractive price point for the distributor’s core prosumer market while maintaining a high standard of quality, he said.
“We’ve been doing really well of late. Broadcasters are not spending money, and that part of the market is tightening up, but the prosumer market has dollars,” Cooper said.
Universities, local television and churches are typically classed as prosumer customers, and GDB creates custom solutions to target specific types within those fields.
Although he couldn’t provide projected sales figures, Cooper expected the ProPrompter product line to be popular, and said the distributor had already taken orders despite only getting the first stock in on November 10.
GDB’s other new vendor signing is Hawk Woods – a series of battery adaptors suitable for prosumer cameras and equipment that will act as a value-adding opportunity in bundling, Cooper said.
