Ubi Soft Entertainment will publish and distribute the next two episodes of popular game title Myst following the acquisition of the entertainment division of The Learning Company.
Ubi Soft will attain the exclusive publishing rights to 88 games titles, including Pool of Radiance, Championship Surfer and Silent Hunter II, through the deal. The acquisition by Ubi Soft follows on from the buyout of Red Storm in August last year and Blue Byte last month.
Rival distributor OziSoft, which picked up the Myst title last year after the collapse of Dataflow, will likely hand distribution back to Ubi Soft to handle in-house. The companies negotiated distribution of the Settler's Series earlier this year after the Blue Byte acquisition.
