Two of Symantec’s specialisation channel programs have received enhancements to strengthen partner commitments.
The vendor’s pre-existing SMB and Endpoint Management Specialistion programs have been updated, based on feedback received since they were launched earlier in the year. Benefits include rebates, technical support, additional training resources, listing on the Symantec Partner Locator and access to other resources.
Symantec SMB director, Steve Martin, said the biggest change was a new opportunity registration program.
“For the first time in this program, partners that register an opportunity and then successfully complete it can receive a 5-10 per cent rebate, depending on the product,” he said.
“We’re continually taking on feedback, both internally and from partners, about our programs, which will inform future developments in the program.”
The specialisations have had a steady rate of uptake since launching, Martin added, although the vendor is not looking to the enhancements to dramatically increase partner numbers.
“We’re not looking to take on thousands of partners for these programs,” Martin said. “We primarily want integration partners that are committed to the Symantec brand.”
