Toshiba's general manager Bruce Lakin has resigned after five years at the helm of the information systems division of the company in Australia.
Lakin will remain at Toshiba until March 30. Shortly thereafter he will take up his new position as chief executive of ASX-listed software company Prophecy International.
He will be based in the US and will take up the post early next month at Prophecy America's headquarters in Denver, Colorado. The former Toshiba executive will be responsible for overseeing the expansion of the company's direct sales force for the West Coast and North East regions.
Managing director of Toshiba Australia, Hidemi Murata will take over as General Manager of Toshiba ISD until a replacement is announced.
"We are sorry that he has chosen to leave Toshiba," Murata said in a statement.
However, he is moving into the software arena and perhaps we will find ourselves working together again at some future point."
