Geelong, Victoria-based integrator, Connectel, has successfully united the branch offices of Great Ocean Road Real Estate through a Mitel and HP solution.
Following a merger of several real estate agencies, Great Ocean Road had grown to a business with four offices in different locations. Connectel was recruited to scrap its old communications system, which consisted of products from multiple providers, and consolidate the four sites to a new single-vendor solution.
Great Ocean Road called on other organisations for a communication system revamp but it was Connectel’s previous affiliations with the property agency which helped win the business.
“We have known the customer for a long time and they were using an old phone system nearly at the end of its life,” Connectel corporate sales manager, Frank Tuskes, said. “We provided services to them before, with no product and the company needed someone to evaluate all its communications, so we did that.”
The integrator used Telstra services to set-up a basic telecommunications infrastructure. A Mitel Communications Director solution on the Mitel 3300 IP Communications Platform (ICO) was then installed at each branch location and networked into one connection.
While the process from sales to end lasted a year, the project rollout only took three weeks. Connectel will stay on to provide ongoing remote management and support for the entire data and voice environment. Connectel declined to disclose the value of the contract.
The rollout has generated positive results with Great Ocean Road Real Estate reportedly spending less every month compared to when it was on the old system.
“Our Mitel solution paid for itself in immediate cost savings,” Great Ocean Road finance manager, Brad Weetman, said in a statement.
Money saved on third-party conference calls, which are now supported by the new system, also contribute to reduced monthly expenditure.
