  • The markets open down after taking their lead from Friday profit-taking on Wall St. They rallied in the afternoon before falling off later in the day with the S&P/ASX200 finishing 29.6 points down at 4830.3.
  • The Aussie dollar was steady at $US0.9225. Gold prices dropped slightly to $US1056.4/ounce while oil prices were slightly down at $US80.50/ barrel.
