Premiere Global Service (PGS) has appointed a US veteran to head up its products strategy in Asia-Pacific.
Former US solutions market manager for Web conferencing solutions, David Adams, has taken up the director of product’s post after eight years with the company. The position is new for PGS and involves managing and pricing products as well as improving focus on its offerings. He will also manage the channel and vendor partnerships of PGS' software-based solutions, including the company's relationship with Microsoft and WebEx, to deliver services based on Microsoft Office Live Meeting and WebEx web collaboration, respectively.
“Asia-Pacific is a huge growth market for us and in order to do the things we need to do, PGS needed somebody focused on products, which is why they brought me over,” Adams said.
Based in the Sydney office, Adams will oversee teams across his given region, development and marketing of products, and leverage the vendor’s communication portfolio including PGiMeet, PGiNotify, PGiSend and PGiMarket.
“With each solution set, my main goal is to get ahead of the market,” Adams said. “My strategy is to begin with our core solutions, so I want to shore up our product base and portfolio.
“Once we’ve got that, I can go out there and start working with our sales and marketing teams.”
Aside from the serious responsibilities that come with the role, Adams wants to bring a bit of “fun” into the game.
“I feel like the market is still very focused on price and features and that’s just not fun,” he said. “It’s really about bringing it up a level and educating customers on how to do business better.
“We’re here to work hard but if we’re not here to enjoy ourselves, then it’s just becomes tedious and so if you just talk about that little stuff, it’s just not fun.”
Prior to his employment with PGS, Adams worked three years for MCI in sales then as a solutions manager for products.
PGS also recruited former Astaro sales vice-president, Bryan Stibbard, as South-East Asia channel sales director in May.
