Symantec’s local partner director, David Dzienciol, has been promoted to a regional channels role.
His new position as channels and SMB business director across Asia-Pacific and Japan will see him relocate to Hong Kong. According to a company spokesperson, Dzienciol will now work with in-country teams across Asia-Pacific and Japan to enhance the vendor’s channels and SMB strategy and programs.
Dzienciol has been with Symantec for 10 years and had formed strong relationships with customers and partners in the Pacific region, as well built a highly successful team, the spokesperson said.
There are no plans to directly replace Dzienciol locally. Instead, Symantec will split his responsibilities across the channel team. In May, the vendor restructured its partner-related team to better focus on its national partners, as well as the SMB market. The changes included realigning senior partner director, Jeff Arndt, to solely concentrate on national partners, and appointing former mid-market manager, Steve Martin, as its first SMB and distribution sales director.
“We have a strong team in place in Pacific and this also creates an opportunity for the Pacific management team to take on new responsibilities,” the Symantec spokesperson said. “We have a solid business in Pacific and look forward to continuing to strengthen our partner relations and support our customers.”
Symantec has 900 staff across A/NZ.
