Sydney, Australia – 7 October 2009 – Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, will host a series of hands-on sessions exclusively for Red Hat partners, to mark the launch of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4, the foundation of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization.

The six-city roadshow will preview Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization and focus on technical enablement for Red Hat’s Australian partners. The sessions will highlight how Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization can dramatically reduce the cost and complexity of virtualization for organisations, as well as free them from vendor lock-in and lower IT costs, while maintaining or improving service delivery and support levels.

Run by a Red Hat Senior Solutions Architect, the sessions will also cover how organisations can run more virtual machines per physical server, run virtual machines on more server and storage configurations than other hypervisors and stop paying extra for virtualization software. They will also preview a new set of virtualization management tools that will deliver live migration, high availability, dynamic power management monitoring and more.

“Organisations are increasingly being pressured to do more with less and adapt to changing business priorities, and recent IDC Research shows that virtualization is a key ingredient in a more agile, cost-effective and greener data centre,” said Max McLaren, Senior Director and General Manager for Red Hat Australia and New Zealand.

“These virtualization sessions will provide our partners’ technical staff, system administrators, architects and engineers with the opportunity to discover how they can enable their customers to harness the true power of virtualization.”
