After almost a decade of service, Telstra consumer group managing director, David Moffatt is resigning from his post.
Moffatt joined the telco in 2001 as CFO and finance and administration group managing director and became a Foxtel board member in the same year. In 2003, he was promoted to his current position and played a key role in driving the company’s T[life] retail chain.
In a statement,Telstra CEO, David Thodey, thanked Moffatt for his work at the company but said the change presented an opportunity for fresh talent to take the stage. Thodey was appointed CEO four months ago, replacing Sol Trujillo.
“With the mass market transformation, and the customer migration in particular, nearing completion, now is the right time for a new generation of leaders to be given the opportunity to take the business into its next phase of growth,” Thodey said in a statement.
Moffatt will remain in the role for the next six months or until a suitable replacement is found.
