Bullguard has appointed Synnex as its third distributor. The deal comes just weeks after the security vendor brought on Harvey Norman as its first retailer, and formed an OEM relationship with systems builder, Pioneer Computers.
Bullguard sales manager, Bronwyn Gascoigne, said the new partnership was complementary with the vendor’s two distributors, Cellnet and Saratoga.
“Cellnet is strongly focused on the telco space now, and Saratoga performs extremely well for us as a regional distributor,” Gascoigne said. “We believe Synnex will bring us a great deal more coverage.”
Cellnet was appointed as a distributor earlier this year. Although Gascoigne maintained that Synnex’s appointment was in the works well before Cellnet pulled out of the IT market, she was looking to Synnex to improve coverage with systems builders and retail.
Gascoigne said Bullguard would look for further growth long-term.
“Internet security is a competitive market, but there are a lot of opportunities out there,” she said.
In a release, Synnex CEO, Kee Ong, said Bullguard’s commitment to channel partners was impressive.
“Its range of products also complements our existing portfolio from vendors such as Asus, Gateway, Acer and Microsoft,” he said.
