Double-Take’s Award-Winning Move at TechEd 2009

This year’s Microsoft TechEd Australia and New Zealand conferences will have a special guest in the house: Double-Take Software’s (NASDAQ: DBTK) award-winning product Double-Take® Move. The product was recently named in the US as a Best of TechEd 2009 award winner in the System Management and Operations category. A new version of the product, Double-Take® Move Version 5.2, has been released in time for TechEd Australia and New Zealand as part of Double-Take Software’s Workload Optimization suite. It is designed to provide users with comprehensive migration capabilities for their physical and virtual machines.

Double-Take Move streamlines the traditional migration process with real-time data movement and hardware-independent conversion technology that make workloads simple for administrators to move — and minimizes the impact on user productivity. By using WAN-friendly, real-time data replication to move workloads, migrating across the country is as easy as migrating between servers in the same location.

Double-Take Move simplifies server and storage migration and works on any Windows server, regardless of server hardware or storage architecture. Operating systems, applications and data are moved easily from one make, model and server configuration to another. Because Double-Take Move is hardware independent, it can be used for any combination of virtual or physical servers. The newest version of Double-Take Move offers full VMware vSphere™ 4 support.

“Double-Take Move 5.2 provides users with additional features that enable superior support during the migration process,” said Bob Roudebush, director of solutions engineering, Double-Take Software. “We are very excited to offer these enhancements and will continue to provide the highest level of migration and disaster recovery products to our customers.”

The Best of TechEd 2009 awards recognise companies who offer innovative products for the industry. The judges reviewed more than 170 products and services submitted for the contest and chose 35 finalists to be interviewed at the TechEd 2009 IT Pro Conference in Los Angeles, California. Winners were announced on May 13, 2009, at an evening reception and are also posted on

“Every year, selecting winners from the outstanding pool of highly qualified nominations is challenging, with this year’s submissions no exception,” said Jeff James, IT Group editor in chief and web content strategist. “Our judging criteria – innovation, strategic importance to the market, competitive advantage and exceptional value to customers – are clearly reflected in the winners’ products.”

Together Double-Take Software and Business Continuity Asia Pacific (BCAP), the Double-Take Software exclusive distributor in Australia and New Zealand, will demonstrate Double-Take Software products at Microsoft TechEd Australia in booth #27 on September 8th-11th.
