Pacnet has introduced its new virtual conferencing solution, Pacnet Virtual Conferencing (VC) Plus. The software package enables high-definition (HD) multi-party video conferencing with 1Mbps of bandwidth per video stream and no additional hardware.
It also utilises Pacnet’s proprietary video compression technology that, according to the vendor, requires much lower bandwidth than standard MPEG or H.264 video codecs. Up to 16 concurrent videoconference participants are permitted.
The solution also contains features allowing users to instant message, file share, record meetings as well as use slides and ‘write’ on an interactive virtual whiteboard.
In a statement, Pacnet chief technology officer, Wilfred Kwan, said Web collaboration helped to address business owner’s tighter budgets as well as offering the benefits of increased collaboration and cost and time saving from travel reduction.
Designed to work with pre-existing hardware and video peripherals such as Web cams or built-in notebook Web cams, the product can be downloaded from the vendor’s website.
The Pacnet VC Plus is available in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
