Xlink has inked an exclusive contract with US-based graphics card manufacturer, BFG Technologies, to become its first Australian distributor.
The vendor's director of marketing, John Malley, said it had experienced significant demand from Australian suppliers, resellers and end-users for its products. The decision to officially launch in the local market was made after BFGTech was approached by the graphics cards distributor, he said.
Although BFGTech works with OEMs internationally, Malley said it did not yet have any such contracts in Australia. However, the vendor would be looking to establish these relationships in the future, he said.
While unable to provide any specific sales projections or targets, Malley said he expected Australian sales to mimic those recorded in the UK and Canada. BFGTech produces a full range of 3D graphics cards, with a particular emphasis on the high-end gaming market. Xlink director, John Welsh, said one of the major drawcards with the vendor was that all of its products came with a lifetime warranty.
"Traditionally with overseas vendors, the warranty side is very difficult," he said. "Most only give one or two years, and you have to send back product before you get replacement stock. We can now offer replacements to our retail partners within 48 hours."
