Former Cellnet IT general manager, Aidan Fitzgerald, has joined Ingram Micro’s Enterprise Technology Group (ETG) as its first national business development manager.
Ingram ETG director, David Lenz, said Fitzgerald would be tasked with building up the distributor’s key growth portfolios including its relationships with VMware, EMC and Cisco. He will also be responsible for working more closely with Juniper.
“We are very excited to have him on the team,” Lenz said.
Fitzgerald, who started in the newly created role this week, will continue to be based in Brisbane.
Fitzgerald was recruited to Cellnet in January 2008 initially as IBM business manager, before taking over as IT general manager in April 2008. He was previously with reseller, Corpnet, for 18 months, and has several years experience working for Ingram Micro in the UK.
Fitzgerald said he was pleased to be rejoining Ingram after a nine-year gap.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to build on the exciting opportunities with vendors like EMC, VMware, Juniper and Cisco to start with, and to be helping to develop solutions and services that assist our growth and differentiate the reseller channel,” he said.
His switch to Ingram comes a few months after Cellnet announced it would fully exit the IT distribution market and nearly nine months after it dropped out of the desktop PC and notebook business.
