The Small Business Support Line (SBSL) is a new AusIndustry initiative that will fulfil the Rudd government’s $10 million commitment in providing small business advice and support throughout the economic downturn.
“Our client, AusIndustry, has very specific requirements in servicing the small business audience. This will be a broad-ranging fulfilment, which is reflected in wide scope of staff training and technology infrastructure invested in the contact centre,” says Andrew Peel, Datacom General Manager for Government Customer Service
“Small business owners wear many hats and are extremely time poor. Our team is a highly experienced group of professionals equipped and ready for the vast range of calls expected from small business owners and managers”
Types of calls can range from government initiatives and grants, business registration and licences, legal, eBusiness, and new business start ups. Support staff will assist small business callers by directing them to the right information and any destinations for further enquiries.
“Selecting the right people with the right experience was essential for the client, AusIndustry. The team have been trained in how small business people operate and the challenges they face in this economic climate. They’re even ready in handling calls from small business owners suffering from depression and other issues that may be associated with operating a small business”
This free service will be available to 1.9 million small businesses operating in Australia.
SBSL will be open between 8am to 6pm AEST, weekdays on the toll free number 1800 777 275. Email enquiries can also be made to sbsl@innovation.gov.au
