itX looks to drive partner sales and recruitment

New partner incentives and training launched with view to drive sales and recruitment

itX is launching new partner incentives and training in a bid to drive reseller sales and recruitment. The first initiative will see the ASX-listed distributor offering a $1 million prize to its Sun volume resellers. “We wanted to make a lot of noise in the channel about Sun and launch a promotion that hasn’t been seen before,” itX marketing manager, Paul Sadler, said. “So we are offering two individuals the opportunity to win $1 million cash.” The promotion is funded and backed by Sun with the vendor and itX footing the fringe benefits tax bill. The promotion covers the vendor’s x86, entry to mid-level servers, and storage products. Resellers must purchase $5000 or more of qualifying products, register the sale online and they will go into a draw. The promotion runs until the end of July. As part of two prize draws in June and early August, itX will give away $5000 cash – $2500 to the winner (along with the chance to win $1 million), $1500 to second place, and $1000 to third place. Towards the end of August, the $1 million will be placed in one of 100 boxes as part of a Sun sales launch. The two winners will then be invited to try their luck to select the right box with both given a chance to win the money. The distributor hopes to boost sales and also recruit 50 new resellers through the promotion. itX has also kicked off a new enablement program called, Xen Master, to help partners get up to speed on Citrix offerings. “It is an enablement program about helping resellers independently go out and sell the prospect, close deals, maximise their sales revenue and get them across the full Citrix product suite,” Sadler said. New and existing partners must go through eight levels to become a black belt Xen Master. These levels include messaging presentation, licensing sales training, account planning meeting, a Citrix Certification Sales professional walkthrough, attendance at Xen Master product training events, participation in Citrix product webinars, executing an itX Pipeline Campaign, and attendance at itX’s Xen Master Sales Universities. “What we are trying to do with this program is reward resellers that use all the services itX is offering,” Sadler said. “Once you are Xen Master, you are then eligible to win the incentive. This promotion runs until the end of December and what we are offering is at the end of the year is a trip to Bedarra Island in the Whitsundays.” The winner will be the Xen Master reseller that has the highest percentage increase in sales over the course of the program.
