Authentication token vendor to give niche distributor a value-for-money solution for the market

Security specialist, Unixpac, is aiming at affordable token security solutions through a partnership with Canadian vendor, Entrust.

Entrust’s flagship product is IdentityGuard, a multifactor authentication solution that secures identities and information, as well as access to sensitive applications, resources, networks and facilities.

Unixpac managing director, Tom Piotrowski, said the appeal of the vendor was that, in a competitive market, it offered an affordable solution.

“We don’t have anything like this on our books,” Piotrowski said. “We do, however, have vendors that integrate with the technology, such as Imprivata."

Entrust’s authentication solutions are the kind that will appeal to a wide range of customers, Piotrowski said.

“It’s an important technology. Anybody who needs that extra layer of a security token will need a solution – this applies right down to the end user of a small organisation,” he said.

Entrust has had a presence in Australia, previously, but as a vendor selling direct to the reseller. Unixpac is its first local distributor, Piotrowski said.

Unixpac also formed a new partnership with end point protection vendor, GuardianEdge, in March.
