State of the market

  • The market leapt in early trading following very strong figures from the US. At 11:50am the S&P/ASX 200 was up 48.2 points.
  • The Aussie dollar retains its strong position in relation to the US dollar, buying $US0.8139. Gold trading is steady at $US954.8 an ounce while oil is selling for $US67.2 a barrel.
