Ray Clarke has been appointed Australian manager of business development at visual display specialist, ViewSonic.
The new role was part of an expansion strategy undertaken by ViewSonic that included new products, ramping up operations and expanding the product range, country manager, William Tse, said in a statement.
Clarke said his position complemented the existing business development team headed by Ian Law. His focus over the next year would be on widening the company’s presence in the retail space, particularly in the all-in-one PC and netbook market.
“We’ve done digital photo frames and TVs before and we’ve done some stuff in the commercial space before, but of particular note due to the breadth of the range is the move we’re making into the all-in-one PC market and netbook space” he said.
In a statement, Tse stated Clarke’s sales experience combined with the new product releases would help to grow the company and move it forwards through the economic decline.
Clarke came to the IT industry two years ago from a recruitment background. He previously held national sales and management positions for companies such as ADECCO and Manpower in a career spanning 20 years.
