US-based vendor, NLU Products, has picked Cellnet (ASX: CLT) as a distributor for its BodyGuardz range in a bid to bolster market share in the retail and telco sector.
In a statement, Cellnet retail general manager, Michael Wallace, said the new NLU offerings align well with the company’s current range of products for its retail and telco customer base.
The news is a breath of fresh air for the embattled distributor, which foresaw a $12 million loss for the full year to June 30, offloaded New Zealand IT operations to Datastor and fended off claims that its distribution agreement with IBM had been dropped.
In a press statement, Dynamic Red managing director, Paul Mapp, cited Cellnet’s strong distribution reach as a driver for the agreement, which will improve BodyGuardz’s presence and attract more major retailers.
Siemens Gigaset also favoured Cellnet for the same reason, dumping Ingram Micro for the company in May.
