SonicWall has a new country manager, with Dean Redman replacing Chris Barton.
Redman was previously the vendor’s channel manager, having joined a year ago. He said his appointment followed a restructure of the vendor’s ranks, with several people leaving and a number of new hires.
“We’re still in negotiations with who will replace me as the channel manager,” he said. “My responsibilities will be much the same in taking control of sales, marketing and operations.
“Going forward, we’ll be looking to diversify our product line and implement a growth strategy. We’ll be looking to ramp up our message around the non-UTM appliances we offer, which hasn’t had much traction in Australia as yet.”
SonicWall has found itself ‘very busy’ of late, Redman added, finding a number of new customers to join the existing base.
“We’re seeing a shift in the market, with a number of organisations looking for alternative solutions to what they’ve traditionally won,” he claimed. “We’re hoping to pick up a good piece of that business.”
Redman was unable to confirm where Barton moved to.
