Simms International has formed its fifth new partnership for the year, teaming up with MYOB competitor, SGA Software.
The vendor’s flagship title, MoneyWorks, was released in 1992 for Apple Mac computers and is a cross-platform business management platform that targets the SMB market.
SGA managing director, Dennis Shepard, said the software, which is well established internationally, had not received the desired level of coverage in Australia.
“Simms. is a specialty distributor with a strong Apple base,” Shepard said. “We’re getting a lot of support from it across its three channels – Apple, corporate resellers and mass merchants.
“We were concerned about getting across to the SME market in Australia, but Simms provides us with good access.”
MoneyWorks has a presence in 60 countries and is especially strong in New Zealand, where the software is developed, Shepard said.
“Developing a stronger presence here was always on the roadmap, and we felt it was a good time to try and take some market share from MYOB,” he said.
In a release, Simms International managing director, Danny Moore said the partnership was a good fit for the distributor.
“MoneyWorks is a smart way to manage financial information and make informed decisions – we are looking forward to working with SGA and supporting these products to grow our businesses and those of our channel partners too,” he stated.
