Sydney, 3 June 2009 - The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has awarded Logica, a leading IT and business services company, a contract over five years for the provision of ICT services, infrastructure and support.

Logica will provide ICT services and support for ACMA’s 540 staff located in Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney. The organisation will also support ACMA’s infrastructure and service management requirements for remote staff based in additional office locations around Australia.

“The ongoing evolution and uptake of new technologies is a focus for the Australian Communications and Media Authority. As a result, we require a partner who can support this focus with experience and demonstrated skills in running an IT infrastructure similar to ACMA. We also set out to appoint an organisation who will engage with us in a strategic partnership and be proactive in both recommending and implementing improvements to our IT infrastructure and processes,” said Cliff Van Lohuizen, ACMA Chief Information Officer.

“Logica was able to provide a team with proven ITIL skills and an inherent understanding of both the job required and a vision of where they could take our organisation’s IT requirements. We concluded Logica was the best value for money across a range of selection criteria,” said Michael Searle, Project Manager of LAN Desktop Outsourcing Project, ACMA.

As part of the outsourcing agreement, Logica is tasked with assessing ACMA’s IT requirements and subsequently implementing systems for the transformation and management of the organisation’s servers, desktop and communications infrastructure.

Colin Holgate, Chief Executive Officer, Logica, Australia said, “We look forward to providing ACMA with ongoing services and quality support to provide improved process in line with the organisation’s IT requirements. We will put in place a team with exceptional experience, focused on exceeding customer expectations around product innovation and user satisfaction.”
