Productivity software vendor, Mindjet, has appointed Aquion as its second Australian distributor.
Mindjet is known for its visual brainstorming software, MindManger, and its online conferencing solution, Mindjet Connect. Victoria-based mindsystems is the only other Australian distributor.
Aquion CEO, Stephen Balicki, said his company was selected because of its history of working closely with new brands.
“Our business model is to represent vendors that don’t have an office in our marketplace so we behave like a branch office as if they had their own sales reps and engineers here,” Balicki said.
“We’d been selling their technology just at a reseller level and we saw that our volumes were going up so we approached them directly and then established the relationship.”
Balicki said the Mindjet range would be a good fit for its target clients of government departments and ASX 200 companies, and that Aquion had no competing product in its line-up.
“It does suit specialist resellers that have project management deployment-type capabilities, but it also suits broad-based enterprise type resellers like Data#3.”
Aquion isn’t running roadshow or workshop-style education campaigns, and will instead focus on ad-hoc meetings with resellers and clients along with special offers for the end of the financial year.
“If it’s a non-specialist rep that doesn’t necessarily have the product knowledge, all they need to do is set up the meeting, we’ll go along and work with them to try to close the business,” Balicki said.
