Point-of-sale (PoS) reseller, GunPoS has secured a deal with The Body Shop to overhaul its electronic retail system.
GunPoS will set up the HP rp5700 retail PoS PC in most of the Body Shops 80 stores around Australia. Thirty machines have already been installed with a total of 116 PCs to be implemented within the next 12 months. Rollout of another 80 units is set for the following year.
GunPoS sales director, Trevor Perry, said this deal was a continuation of a long-running relationship.
“When I was working for DH Technology, we supplied hardware to a former Body Shop chain called Accessorize,” he said. “When I moved to GunPoS three and a half years ago, the retailer followed suit.
“All the Body Shop PoS equipment is already supplied by our company so we are just replacing old units.”
The deal is worth about $150,000. While Perry conceded it is not the biggest deal for GunPoS, he said it was still significant to the business.
The reseller’s biggest client is retail chain, Suzanne. The company also provides goods to Fletcher Jones.
PoS is also on the agenda for Ingram Micro, which recently acquired Vantex to gain a lead in the PoS and data capture market.
