Oz Network seeks new Web apps

Web content and technology reseller OzNetwork is on the prowl for Internet technologies to provide value-add to the content feeds and search technology it sells to corporates, Internet service providers and dot-coms.

Sydney-based OzNetwork aggregates content and resells search technology for Web sites. It offers around 20 different news feeds in-house and syndicates around 200 specialist feeds from other locations, all customised to the look and feel of the customer's Web site.

Dean Slover, director of corporate services, said these services are designed to keep viewers on sites for longer.

OzNetwork has also begun reselling Internet search technologies such as Askit.com, Web software that searches past customer queries for frequently asked questions. This software also offers an e-mail option for undocumented questions. Every time a question is then answered by customer support staff, it is automatically posted to the FAQ knowledge base.

Sloven said that for around $1500 per month, customers can cut incoming e-mail by an average of 40 per cent.

These Web technologies are generally developed overseas, and Sloven said he is interested in finding similar Web applications developed in Australia to resell.

"We are always looking for something that isn't on offer anywhere else, something unique that addresses a specific need a company might have," he said.
