Security vendor, Fortinet, has brought on-board its third distributor. Ingram Micro will join Firewall Systems and WhiteGold Solutions.
Fortinet regional director, Charles Cote, said bringing on a third partner was necessary for the vendor to continue its growth in the region.
“To maintain the kind of growth that we’re seeing, which is averaging 45 per cent quarter on quarter, looking for a mainstream partner made sense to us,” Cote said.
“We signed as a partner with Ingram Micro in New Zealand a year-and-a-half ago. At the time we had discussions about representation in Australia, so this is also a continuation of the global relationship we have with it.”
Cote said there was no expected competition with the existing Fortinet distribution partners.
“There should not be much overlap – Ingram Micro is a very broad based distributor with strengths in SME,” he said. “It has strengths with enterprises too, but Ingram Micro will help up push on the low to medium end.”
In a release, Ingram Micro managing director, Jay Miley, said Fortinet was selected as a market leader in the UTM space with a product line that allowed its resellers to add value to overall security solutions offered to customers.
