Lan 1 is looking to secure government, military and finance customers to the highest level with its new vendor partner, GeNUA.
The German vendor’s main product is its GeNUGate – a two-tier firewall certified to CC level EAL 4+ and meets AVA_VLA.4 certification – allowing solutions that have been rated by NATO to be able to connect ‘secret’ networks to ‘unclassified’ ones.
Lan 1 manager IP security business, Christo Simeonoff, said the solution was a high-end offering the distributor didn’t previously have and was complementary to its other security vendors.
“GeNUA also offers a mobile security option to a similar strength level with firewall, VPN gateway and HSM token,” Simeonoff said. “These kinds of solutions are ideal for Federal Government, military and finance verticals.”
Lan 1 also recently formed a partnership with Palo Alto. Simeonoff said the distributor was not seeking further security partners, as it has now covered all main areas of the market with its portfolio.
GeNUA has no local staff. While it has a number of units in place in Australia, it has not had a local presence.
In a release, GeNUA CEO, Bernhard Schneck, said that as Australia was a brand new market for the vendor, it needed a strong local partner with experience in sales and technical support. Lan 1 was chosen based on these criteria and its geographical reach.
