Is the HP Mini 2140 the best netbook?

HP's netbook is slaying other contenders in the netbook edition of Product Wars

Halfway through the week and the battle is raging. The HP Mini 2140 is holding its ground at the top of the netbook Product Wars, fighting off stiff competition from the Fujitsu M1010, ASI Nimu NL1, Pioneer IL4, and the MSI Wind U120. Challengers from Dell, Acer and Asus are trailing behind but are far from defeated.

The list changes daily though, and the gaps between them are tiny, so if you want your netbook to still be at the top at the end of the week, get voting!

Click here to be taken to our products section, and throw your hat into the Product Wars ring.

Each fortnight we will be collecting a group of products, and placing them on the battlefield. Two products from the group will randomly appear, asking for you to take their side in the eternal battle over which gadget is cooler. With a click, you can determine their fortunes.

Then, two more products will be randomly chosen. Feel free to play once, twice or a hundred times, though we don’t recommend you play until you develop RSI.

With every click, your vote is added to the database. The scores for each product are listed on the side of the screen – the score being determined by how many times that product has won a battle. We also welcome any ideas for product wars sets – servers? Coffee machines with Ethernet cables? If you can think of a genre of products with a number of competing vendors, we’d love to hear from you.

E-mail any suggestions to trevor_clarke@idg.com.au
