Simms powers on with Powertraveller

Battery backup solution will be targeted at all Simms customer segments

Niche products distributor, Simms International, has added a power hardware vendor to its portfolio, suitable for both its retail and corporate customers.

UK-based Powertraveller produces a range of battery backup and solar power solutions for remote users that are suitable for a wide range of products – from gaming consoles and iPods through to mobile phones and notebooks.

Simms managing director, Danny Moore, said the offerings fitted with its consumer, Apple retail and corporate focuses. The portfolio includes both small, fashionable units, as well as rugged units suitable for military applications.

“We’ve had a positive response from our corporate customers, despite being in evaluation and only having the product for 10 days,” Moore said.

Initially, the product will be available through David Jones retail outlets, as well as an online retail store.

Powertraveller products are available globally – including Europe, Africa and the Middle East and North America.

Simms has signed a number of new vendors this year, including Quark and Tucano. It also formed a significant partnership with Linksys by Cisco late last year.
