Cisco IronPort has appointed Glenn Welby to the newly created role of general manager for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).
Based in Canberra, Welby will be responsible for all IronPort sales and operational affairs in the A/NZ region through the reseller channel.
“My main focus is to perpetuate previous successes and make sure we can execute on business opportunities out there and satisfy customer needs,” he said.
Welby worked for two years as a Cisco Systems account manager in the Federal Government space, with a focus on the education vertical market, before being promoted to general manager. He also ahd a stint managing Cisco’s ACT channel partner relationships.
Prior to joining Cisco, Welby was part of the ACT Government for five years, during which time he had a number of roles including corporate services in the Department of Disability Housing and Community Services.
Welby holds an Honours Degree in Political Science at UNSW. He is a qualified registered general nurse at London’s University College Hospital.
