Ozhosting.com is making its come back into the Web hosting market after an absence of almost five years.
The company was purchased by Destra in 2004, which then shelved the Ozhosting.com brand, according to OzHosting managing director, Anthony Banek.
In 2006, Destra sold its hosting assets to BlueFreeway for $20 million, which included the OzHosting.com trademark and branding.
“Our analytics and search data shows that a lot of people are coming to BlueCentral through searching for OzHosting,” Banek said. "There’s very significant value still in the brand and historically, it was very strong in customer service and reliability.”
With the launch, the Web hosting company will supply new products including Microsoft Hosted Exchange, Virtual Private Server and Microsoft Hosted SharePoint, specifically targeting SoHo and SMBs. The new services will also be offered to wholesalers and resellers, who will have the chance to provide white-label services.
“One of the key drivers for us in this new platform is the functionality for reselling, white labelling and wholesaling,” he said. “We’re starting to get a few enquiries from large organisations wanting to wholesale and white label our solutions.”
Banek said it had been trialing the brand in the last six to eight weeks and had already signed up a couple of hundred services, with one of them being the Hawthorn Football Club.
In the meantime, the company has appointed Doug Endersbee to take on the newly created role as director of strategic alliances for OzHosting. He previously worked for IPMG.
