Infrastructure optimisation vendor, F5, has brought on Kurt Hansen as managing director across A/NZ. His priorities will include expanding the vendor’s market share in the application delivery controller and data management markets.
Hansen was most recently managing director of enterprise mobility vendor, AirData, and has spent 20 years in the IT industry. His resume includes sales and major account management positions with Symbol Technologies, Telstra, Cisco and Ericsson.
In a statement, F5 vice-president Asia-Pacific, Song Tang Yih, said Hansen’s industry knowledge and experience would help accelerate its momentum.
He said the region was one of the primary adopters of F5’s application delivery networking technologies globally.
Hansen cited demand for solutions within the large and medium enterprise storage environments as a key opportunity. He also signalled his support for channel partners.
“The current team at F5 have done a great job building out the channel program. My initial focus will be to further enhance the momentum that we can create by building end-user demand and preference for F5 in enterprise and telcos to improve their IP infrastructure and total ROI,” he said. “This will all be of benefit to our channel, both VARs and distributors as we grow.”
