CA has appointed four new people across its channel business in Australia and New Zealand to boost its managed services play.
Wilhelm Hamman has been appointed as a channel account director for Australia, and will be supported by Vivek Santhana and Murray Whitlocke-Jones, who have both taken roles as customer solution architects.
In New Zealand, Matthew Rounthwaite has also been appointed as a customer solution architect.
All four roles are newly created, and will focus on CA’s burgeoning managed services business, CA director of channel sales, Klasie Holtzhausen, said.
“Our indirect business has two routes to market – a traditional reseller model and our managed services model,” Holtzhausen said.
“The managed services business is building momentum, and we look at it as a very good opportunity for us in light of the economic situation. We now have five dedicated staff in this space in Australia, and an additional two in New Zealand.”
Depending on the extent the business grows, there may be more appointments in the future, Holtzhausen said.
“We’ve only just deployed this structure for our indirect business,” he said. “If it’s successful we will be adding more staff, and looking to target additional partners in the space.
“CA has had good results globally, and we are well positioned, but going forward strong relationships and good support levels will be critical to success. I’m also increasing our focus on the commercial space for the indirect business, so the new staff will be focused on building relationships there.”
In March, the vendor slashed 31 staff from its Melbourne security research and development laboratory.
