Hip Gizmos has broadened its portfolio into Apple-compatible accessories, signing a partnership with hardware vendor, Aevoe.
Aevoe produces the Moshi brand of premium products, ranging from keyboards to iPod covers that closely integrate with Apple products.
Hip Gizmos sales director, Sean Mattheisz, said the products, which are available on Apple’s US and UK websites, marry well in niche areas.
“These products work at the higher end,” Mattheisz said. “We’re hoping they will help grow our recognition in the market as Moshi is a well-known brand overseas.”
He was confident it could gain good market penetration despite the economic conditions.
“We don’t carry any competing products, so this is an additional offering for us, and while we’re finding the market is slow at the moment, people are still looking for new things to buy, and quality is important to them,” he said.
The specialist distributor will take the product to market through its existing portfolio of Apple retailers and resellers, and would approach chains such as Dick Smiths, Mattheisz said.
“It’s a niche space, but we are seeing opportunities for digital lifestyle, and are looking for more vendors in this area,” he said.
